How to Check Your Share Result in Nepal
If you've applied for shares in a new IPO or FPO and you're refreshing your phone every ten minutes waiting for news, you don't need to. Nepal's share allotment results are published online, and checking yours takes about a minute once you know where to look.
Where "Share Result" Actually Comes From
When people in Nepal talk about checking their "share result," they almost always mean the IPO (or FPO) allotment result, whether the shares you applied for during a public offering were actually allotted to you. This is handled by CDSC and Clearing Limited (CDSC), the organization that manages Nepal's demat accounts and depository system. They're the ones who run the allotment lottery when an issue is oversubscribed, and they're the ones who publish the outcome.
There are two main ways to check it: the dedicated CDSC result website, or your Mero Share account directly. Both pull from the same data, so pick whichever is more convenient.
Checking Through the CDSC Result Website
Go to the official CDSC IPO result site (iporesult.cdsc.com.np). Don't use random third-party "IPO result" sites; stick to the official domain.
Enter your BOID. This is your Beneficiary Owner ID, the same number tied to your demat and Mero Share account. You'll find it in your Mero Share profile if you don't have it memorized.
Select the company whose IPO or FPO you applied for from the list.
Click "View Result." The page will show you whether you were allotted shares and, if so, how many units.
Checking Through Mero Share
If you already live in the Mero Share app or website for applying to issues, this route keeps everything in one place.
Log into your Mero Share account using your username, password, and DP (depository participant).
Go to "My ASBA." This is where all your share applications are tracked.
Open the 'Application Report'. Find the relevant company and check the status column.
Read the status. It'll show something like "Applied," "Allotted," or the number of units you received.
CDSC has also streamlined how quickly results become available — allotment outcomes now generally show up not long after the lottery or allocation process finishes, rather than taking hours the way they sometimes used to when servers got overloaded during high-demand issues.
Why Your Application Might Show "Not Allotted"
A few things commonly cause this, and it's worth knowing the difference between "you got unlucky in the lottery" and "your application had a problem":
Oversubscription. Popular IPOs in Nepal routinely get far more applications than there are shares available, so allotment gets decided by lottery. Missing out often just means the numbers didn't land your way, not that you did anything wrong.
Multiple applications from one person. Applying more than once for the same IPO across different accounts typically gets all of those applications rejected, not just the extras.
Insufficient balance. If the linked bank account didn't have enough funds to cover the full application amount at the time of allotment, the application won't go through.
Mismatched details. Errors in your name, PAN, or bank information relative to what's on file can also cause a rejection independent of the lottery outcome.
If your result says you weren't allotted, that's usually just how oversubscribed lotteries work, there's no reason to assume something's wrong with your account.
Staying on Top of New IPOs
Since results only matter if you knew about the issue in the first place, it helps to have a couple of go-to sources for tracking new offerings and their allotment dates, company and merchant-banker announcements, financial news sites that cover NEPSE listings, and SEBON's own notices. Keeping half an eye on these means you're not caught off guard by an application deadline or a result you forgot to check.

A Few Common Questions
How soon after allotment can I check my result? Results are generally available not long after the allotment process for a given issue wraps up, CDSC's system has been upgraded specifically to cut down the wait that used to happen with heavy traffic on popular issues.
Do I need a Mero Share account to check via the CDSC website? You need a BOID either way, since that's what identifies your account. Most people get theirs by having a Mero Share account already, even if you check the actual result on the separate CDSC site.
What if the result page won't load? This is usually heavy traffic right after a popular allotment goes live. Give it a bit and try again, or switch to checking via Mero Share directly instead of the CDSC site (or vice versa).
Can I check results for old IPOs I applied for months ago? Yes, your Application Report in Mero Share keeps a history, so you can look back at past applications, and not just the most recent one.
