Maharishi Bhrigu, father of Hindu Astrology was the first compiler of predictive astrology, compiling about 500,000 horoscopes and recording life details of various individuals. This led to the birth of the science (Sastra), which determines the quality of time. The horoscopes were based on the planetary positions of the Sun, Moon, Mercury, Venus, Mars, Jupiter, Saturn, Rāhu, and Ketu. Maharishi Bhṛigu gave his predictions on different types of horoscopes with the help of Lord Gaṇesh, with a total of 45 million possible charts. He taught this art to his son and other pupils. Currently, a part of Bhrigu samhita is available in Hoshiarpur/Sultanpur district of Indian Punjab state and Varanasi district of Indian Uttar Pradesh state, where many people find their horoscope.
